Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Shanell’s love for beauty began out of necessity. While navigating foster care as a young girl, she learned to care for her own hair. Even then, she understood that beauty was not about vanity. It was about confidence, identity, and self worth.

At 15 years old, while living in a girls home, she discovered her true gift. What began as doing hair for other girls turned into a passion that uplifted an entire community. The home created a Beauty Room where she braided, styled, and encouraged the young women around her. Donations of nail stations and beauty supplies followed because the staff recognized her leadership and talent. She became so sought after that staff had to limit her prices to six dollars after girls began using their full allowances just to sit in her chair.

One mentor changed her trajectory when she told her, “If you can braid, you can sew.” From that moment, Shanell mastered sew ins and advanced installation techniques that would later become her signature.

By 18, she committed to her craft professionally. Over the years, her skill elevated her into celebrity spaces. Shanell travels to service high profile clients and her work has been featured on the Bravo Network television show The Real Housewives of Potomac. Her talent and precision have made her a trusted stylist in luxury and entertainment circles.

In addition to hairstyling, Shanell expanded her expertise into beauty artistry. For five consecutive years, she traveled to New York once every month to provide microblading services, building a loyal clientele across state lines and proving that her brand had no geographic limits.
